This Auction is for a Wooden Canadian Canoe that is circa 1920. It has been in my family for many years and it has now come the time to sell it as i don't have the space to store it and it does not get used.

It is approx 15 foot long and 2.8 foot wide at the widest point. It is also approx 12 inches deep.

I would say over all it is in good condition for its age. The inside was sanded down and re-stained and varnished by myself and my dad earlier this year so that is all done. The outside of the boat was re-varnised approx 5 years ago and the black on the bottom was done.
I went out and paddled the boat on the river a couple of weeks ago and i was on the water about half an hour. It does let in some water which i expected as it has not been used for many years so the wood has shrunk a bit. I would say after half an hour there was about an inch of water in the bottom. The more use the boat gets the less water it will let in as the wood will swell. Also if the outside of the boat was re-done it would help to.

There are very few boats like this left and especially in this condition. With a bit of work this boat could be worth a lot of money. I have seen this kind of boat for sale for well over £1000. I am starting the auction at a  very low price.

The boat comes with 2 paddles, 2 seats and 2 wooden boards that go in the bottom of the boat.(one is broken but a new one could easily be made)

A: Hi The boat weighs about 40kg so can be easily lifted around by 2 people. I normally transport it on my roof rack but it has been transported on a trailer. It has not been transported very much though. Regards Mark
