It is made from high quality SUAR WOOD.  It is solid wood and therfore is quite heavy - weighing over 10 lbs easy!  The attention to detail is amazing. 

Made in Bali, Indonesia by expert wood carver 'Made Anun' in the village of Tegelellang.

The story behind this image tells us that in the world there is joy and pain…one must balance out the other. In order for us to experience more of life’s joys, the weeping Buddha carries the world’s sorrow for us all. Many find comfort in having this sculpture in their home or office so they may pay respect to the weeping Buddha for selflessly taking on our burdens and grief.
