Original 19th Century watercolour portrait of a Spanish girl in it’s original mount. The artist has signed the painting bottom left and in ink to the back of the mount.
The quality in the application of brush-strokes within the face and neck area is excellent, similar quality as you may expect to find with a watercolour miniature portrait painter.
I have not yet attempted to research the artist, it is clear that he (or she) was professionally trained.
Checking the reverse of the mount, there is evidence of this painting being put forward in auction in the distant past, with a lot number pasted and a price tag of £4 –1-0.
