10 (ten) 1000 grains (2.08 troy oz each) .999 silver art thick ingots

minted by Wittenauer Mint in 1973

United States Bill of Rights & Amendements

Original 14” x 12” wood frame and papers

Well known classic … yet so scarce

Well known classic … yet so scarce… For the past several years, you only got to see them a few times on ebay, and these include just bare ingots.  For 10 ingots set in original wood frame and papers … you must be kidding !!

This complete silver set contains not all 27 United States Constitution Amendments, but only the major Amendments that are well known.  Ingots do not necessarily correspond one-to-one to Amendments.  For example, 2 Amendments (the African Americans’ right to vote and women’s right to vote) correspond to 1 ingot “The Right to Vote”.  The First Amendment is so profound that it is made into 4 ingots. The result of arrangements makes good sense.

The ingots are thick.  The front is about same size as regular 1 oz silver bar, but  thicker to account for 1000 grains (2.08 troy oz).  One side of rim is hallmarked “WITTENAUER P.M.G. 1973 1000 GRAINS .999 FINE SILVER”, Another side of rim is marked with low serial number.

The reverses of ingots are not shown (blocked by wood frame board).  Reverse gives simplified explanation about the corresponding Amendment.  The 10 brochures contain in-deep analysis and controversy of each Amendment and are very much worth enlightening.

The ingots are in excellent condition – never taken out of frame. Wood frame should be considered excellent condition given the age. Frame has hanger on the back to allow it hang on the wall.

WIT-1 :  The Right to Privacy (4th Amendment)

WIT-2 :  The Right to Vote (15th & 19th Amendment)

WIT-3 :  The Right to Bear Arms  (2nd Amendment)

WIT-4 :  The Right to Legal Counsel (6th Amendment)

WIT-5 :  The Right to Trial by Jury (6th Amendment)

WIT-6 :  Freedom of Religion (1st Amendment)

WIT-7 :  Freedom from Slavery (13th Amendment)

WIT-8 :  Freedom of Assembly (1st Amendment)

WIT-9 :  Freedom of Speech (1st Amendment)

WIT-10 :  Freedom of Press (1st Amendment)

Minted in 1973.  Mintage is unknown, but believed extremely rare.

Rarity Value (1991) = $35 each 1000 grains ingot (in 1991 1 oz silver spot was about $4)

(that “translates” to Rarity Value $60 per 1000 grains ingot today)

The rarity value quoted above is based on the out-dated Indexed Guide Book of Silver Art Bars by Archie Kidd, 5th edition, published in 1991.

**** PLEASE REVIEW CAREFULLY FOLLOWING PAYMENT AND SHIPPING MATTERS.

IT WILL ANSWER MANY OF YOUR QUESTIONS AND HELP US TO COMPLETE THE TRANSACTION SMOOTHLY.

IF YOU DON’T AGREE TO IT, PLEASE DON’T BID.  THANK YOU. *****

**IMPORTANT**  INTERNATIONAL BUYERS, PLEASE SEE END OF ARTICLE FOR SHIPPING CHARGE.  IF YOUR COUNTRY CURRENTLY IS NOT COVERED BY THE THIRD PARTY INSURANCE I AM USING, YOU MAY PAY HIGHER SHIPPING CHARGE THAN THE NUMBERS SHOWN IN THE LISTING. THEN YOU MUST WAIT FOR MY INVOICE TO SPECIFY YOUR TOTAL SHIPPING CHARGE.

PAYMENT:

PAYPAL :  I ship to PAYPAL CONFIRMED ADDRESS.

SHIPPING CHARGE:

1. Different domestic or international destinations may have variable shipping charges.  The extra services – insurance, signature confirmation, certificate of mailing, etc. - if applicable - are fixed charges known in advance, hence are lumped together into “handling charge” and is part of your total shipping charge.

2. For higher priced invoice, both Insurance & Signature Confirmation is required, as per paypal protection requirements.

COMBINED S/H DISCOUNT :

If you win multiple listings, my combined shipping charge is very close to actual shipping cost ~ please do not pay right away ~ wait for my invoice to reflect shipping discounts.

NON-PAYING BUYERS:

I check feedbacks and reserve the right to cancel bids from problematic bidders. Sorry to say this here as most bidders are good.

I will have to report non-paying buyers to eBay in order to get my eBay fee reimbursed.  eBay will strike non-paying on the buyer’s record, or may even cancel their registration – sorry I can not help with that – I just want to get my fee back.  So please bid with this in mind.

RETURNS:

AUTHENTICITY GUARANTEED, OR MONEY BACK. OTHERWISE, I DON’T ACCEPT BULLION RETURNS.

INTERNATIONAL BUYERS:

International shipping insurance has low coverage for many countries, some as low as only $500.  SO I WILL NOT SHIP ANY ITEMS WORTH MORE THAN $500 TO OVERSEAS AND INTERNATIONAL BUYERS SHOULD NOT BID FOR SUCH ITEMS.  Some countries do have higher limits, exceptions can be made but you need to email me first to get my agreement.

I combine shipping.  Please do not pay right away ~ wait for my invoice to reflect shipping discounts.

Shipping Method :

- USPS PRIORITY MAIL INTERNATIONAL + INSURANCE

If the invoice is greater than $400, OR the package weighs more than 4 lb, OR the package is large (exceeds USPS specified dimensions), then USPS PRIORITY MAIL INTERNATIONAL is required.  The total shipping cost is higher, and is already pre-calculated for you in the listing.  Fortunately very few items in my store require this shipping method.  Most items will ship with the next method :

- USPS FIRST CLASS MAIL INTERNATIONAL + INSURANCE

Due to that some countries currently are not covered by the third party insurance that I am using, there are 2 different shipping cost schedules:

(A) If your country is on the following country-table (which is true for majority of buyers), then your total shipping charge is cheaper, and is already pre-calculated for you in the listing :

Argentina

Australia

Austria

Bahamas

Belgium

Bermuda

Canada

Chile

China

Costa Rica

Croatia

Czech Republic

Denmark

Egypt

El Salvador

England

Estonia

Finland

France

Germany

Greece

Guatemala

Holland

Hong Kong

Hungary

Iceland

Ireland

Israel

Italy

Japan

Luxembourg

Netherlands

New Zealand

Norway

Portugal

Samoa

Scotland

South Africa

South Korea

Spain

Sweden

Switzerland

Taiwan

Turkey

United Kingdom

United States of America

Uruguay

Wales

Your total shipping charge is (1) + (2) + (3) as follows :

(1) USPS First Class Mail International (cheapest. This fee is based on weight - about $3 for 1 oz coin in 3 oz bubble envelope packaging)

(2) Insurance - $1.50 per $100 insurance coverage.

(3) Certificate of Mailing $1.15 – this fee applies ONLY IF invoice is greater than $100.

However, if your invoice is small (less than $50), then your total shipping charge may only be (1).

(B) If your country is NOT on the country-table, then you MUST wait for my invoice to specify your total shipping charge, because your total shipping charge can not be pre-calculated for you in the listing, and may be higher than the numbers shown in the listing.  :

(1) If the invoice is less than $50 –

You pay USPS First Class Mail International rate (still cheap), plus insurance $2.50.  It is to your advantage to keep your purchase less than $50 to still have low total shipping charge.

(2) If the invoice is between $50 and $100 –

You pay USPS First Class Mail International rate (still cheap), plus insurance $1.50, plus Registered Mail fee $11.50 (this is the part that is not cheap).

(3) If the invoice is greater than $100 –

You pay USPS Priority Mail International rate (not cheap), plus USPS insurance covering entire invoice amount.

International buyers are responsible for their custom/government tax.
