Item: - Wine Labels: 1730-2003 - A Worldwide History by John Salter

Description: -

Silver wine labels made their appearance in the 1730s to identify the contents of unmarked opaque glass wine bottles. This book reflects the lively interest in wine labels of collectors in many countries. It explores the history of the development of not only the labels themselves, but also of the great collections. It examines in detail makers, places of manufacture and styles. We use this book all of the time and whilst its not cheap its certainly worth the cover price and an absolute MUST for any collector!

About the Author
Professor John Salter was educated at Oxford University and is a distinguished international lawyer. He is past Chairman of the Silver Society and a past president of the Wine Label Circle. He has written extensively on Scottish silver and for various magazines.

Please note: - The Book weighs 2500 gram once packed so international buyers please contact us for shipping quote.

We aim to be as quick and efficient as possible at the lowest cost to you with shipments combined at checkout to reduce costs further, please allow approx 48hrs (not including weekends) for dispatch of your items once payment as cleared. Prices quoted are for Royal Mail First Class, Recorded and Royal Mail Special Delivery (UK).  Royal Airmail and International signed for (European and Worldwide).
