Description

Silver sixpence dated 1811 issued by the 'Marlborough & Wiltshire Old Bank' (the partners being King, Gosling, Tanner & Griffiths) in Marlborough Wiltshire. 

Obverse : Four hands in cruciform and unity.  Reverse : Denomination.

The Old Bank was situated in Marlborough and was formed by the four partners listed above in 1811 - and as well as issuing a silver shilling and sixpence also iissued a £5 and £1 banknote.   Its agents were Spooner Attwood & Co. of Gracechurch Street, London and New Street, Birmingham.
