This is an amazing true story that has taken the author Ray Warren over 25 years to research and publish. The story has been mentioned on various radio shows and was extensively covered on the Ray Mears TV programme. What they failed to tell was that this girl was a mere child and was kidnapped by an ex-convict, her 'husband' was a murderer who left her to her fate amongst headhunters, her predicament was known to the Australian authorities who did nothing. Even when she was 'rescued' by sailors, her story was covered up so as not to offend Victorian propriety.  If it was fiction it would be a great read, the fact it is a true story makes this an essential read.  Incidentally, Barbara was rescued 160 years ago almost to the day 16th October 2009.

It is an extremely rare book and I am the only UK seller of this title, despite the fact that some of the big bookshops and online retailers like WH Smiths claim to have copies at £14  - they don't!
