Anne Pratt (1806 - 1893) was a botanical illustrator from Kent. She was one of the best known English botanical illustrators of the Victorian age. She wrote this book in 1846 and although undated, this copy looks to be of that era.

The book is in a good condition but clearly has been used by previous owners and among the pages are the remains of a few pressed flowers. There is some 'blooming' (if you forgive the pun!) of the pages as would be expected with such a book. The binding is tight, although the covers are a little bumped and faded - all things that add the beauty of what is a nice book in need of a good home!
