IMPORTANT I have a great many more items in my eBay STORE that, since eBay changed the rules for UK sellers, no longer appear in regular eBay.com item searches. So please click my store icon and browse the category menu on the left. NEW! Now you can receive a weekly email bulletin detailing my latest offers and finds. How? Just add me to your list of favourite eBay sellers, using the link at the top of the page. It's free, eBay system generated (so your email remains private) and you can easily unsubscribe at any time. Wien um 1900 The scarce catalogue for an amazingly comprehensive exhibition of Secessionist art and design held in Vienna in 1964. The book details every exhibit shown at the event, which ran from June until August and was held in several different locations across the city. The exhibition was an exhaustive survey of the painting, sculpture, poster and book illustration, graphics, metalwork, ceramics, furniture design and textiles created in turn of the century Vienna. The catalogue makes a fantastic resouce for scholars, collectors, dealers and enthusiasts of the Vienna Secession and Wiener Werkstatte. The book covers all 870 exhibits in text (German) at the front of the book and there are 94 full-page plates (12 in colour) at the rear showing selected examples. The book extends to about 360 pages in total. There is also a section giving biographical sketches of each artist designer represented in the exhibition. Among the more obvious personalities featured - for example Josef Hoffmann, Ferdinand Andri, Koloman Moser, Adolf Boehm, Carl Otto Czeschka, Karl Hagenauer, Gustav Klimt, Oscar Kokoschka, Max Kurzweil, Adolf Loos, Berthold Loffler, Emanuel Josef Margold, Carl Moll, Kolo Moser, Josef Maira Olbrich, Dagobert Peche, Michael Powolny, Otto Pruscher, Alfred Roller, Egon Schiele, Jutta Sika and Otto Wagner - are many less well known names. The softcover book is in excellent used condition with minimal wear to the covers. It measures 21cm by 16.5cm. © Text and photographs by room_606. Please do not copy either in full or in part. UK buyers only may also pay by cheque or postal order. If it's a cheque, please allow 7 to 10 days for it to clear. All buyers please make contact within 3 days of auction. Payment is required within 7 days. Non-payment All non-paying bidders are, without exception, reported to eBay. This is not for the sake of being vindictive, but because eBay charges retrospective fees calculated on the actual sale price of items and this money needs to be retrieved. Believe me it is hard enough to make ends meet on here as it is! Thank you for your understanding. Please refer to eBay's policy on non-payment for more information, including its ramifications for the bidder. If you have any doubts, please do ask before bidding. Condition of items Please note that, unless clearly stated otherwise, my listings are for vintage/antique objects and therefore, by definition, are not going to be in the same condition you would expect from a brand new item. Please be assured that I always endeavour to offer the most accurate description possible of the item's condition and take multiple illustrative photographs. Vintage electrical items Unless clearly stated otherwise in the description, vintage electrical items are sold in their original condition so should always be safety checked by a qualified electrician before use. Returns Returns are possible, if reported within 7 days and by prior arrangement, if a mistake has been made in the listing and the item is not as described, but for no other reason. Unfortunately simple buyer's remorse cannot qualify. Please don't hesitate to e-mail me to ask any questions not covered above; I always answer as promptly as possible. Thanks very much for taking the time to read this and best of luck bidding! |
