The magical night of Whit Friday is captured on this live recording from the Delph contest in Saddleworth. Sixteen performances from bands such as Brighouse, Fodens and Hepworth, and Cartax Navigation - a group of players who get together for one night only, that includes Brian Evans and Peter Roberts both on soprano.

The marches? A variety of the old Whit Friday favourites such as Honest Toil, ORB, Mephistopheles, Ravenswood and Senator. In addition, The Wizard and The President receive fine performances.

The disc also gives the listener the opportunity to enjoy some of the non-familiar Whit Friday marches, but great marches nonetheless. Army of the Nile, Bramwyn, Roll Away Bet, The Red Shield, The Contester and Viva Birkinshaw are all featured by bands who perform to a very high standard.

A disc worth the investment for the Whit Friday experience and the mix of marches featured.
