Wheelchair Accessible Taxi licensed for the Taunton Deane area. 

55 Reg. 2005. MOT until August 2010. Taxed. Diesel Manual Gearbox.

Only been used as a taxi for about 8 months previously owned by the County Council

This one is an 8 seater including driver.  It can carry 5 passengers plus a Wheelchair Passenger. Or 7 seated passengers.

It has an extra 2 seats in the back that can be folded out of the way if required to transport a passenger in a wheelchair.

The floor has been lowered (at the extra cost of £8000) to make access safer + it lowers the centre of gravity eliminating the pendulum effect that could otherwise make the wheelchair passenger travel sick.  The wheelchair passenger faces forward - another Plus and the angle of the ramp is very shallow, easier on your back.

There are safety straps fitted that are fastened to the front of the wheelchair while it is still outside of the vehicle, these retract on a ratchet principle as you push the wheelchair up the gentle slope, this means that it is impossible for the wheelchair to fall backwards out of the vehicle if you were to slip or lose your footing.

The vehicle has covered about 129,000 miles.  I have others that have covered 230,000 miles and still going strong. The key is regular maintenance.

This vehicle is only available due to loss off large contract, to volunteer drivers, the bane of Taxi Owners. As readers of the Private Hire magazine will understand. 

This vehicle is also ideal for private use if you have a disabled family member that you wish to transport with ease. No need to pay £25,000 for a new one!
