Simple set-up instructions for this receiver only:

Place disc in CD Rom. Install driver for whichever version windows you have. Follow instructions. Connect receiver by attaching the USB cable to receiver and connect to your USB port on your PC or laptop. The receiver must be in a place clear of high buildings. If in vehicle place outside for the first start-up as some vehicles have heat reflective screens that block the signal. You will find the com port used by the receiver in START, CONTROL PANEL, SYSTEM, HARDWARE, DEVICE MANAGER, PORTS, then select the port number in the mapping configuration. Baud rate is 4800. This is only a rough guide as not all mapping is the same. Also finding the com port in VISTA will be slightly different.

Use with all versions of AUTOROUTE 2002/03/04/05/06/07/08 , virtually any mapping software such as INFOMAP NAVIGATOR,  MEMORY MAP, PRYME NAV,  TSUNAMIS 99,  SEA CHARTS,  MAPS OF THE BRITISH COAST, the FREE link mapping we offer to buyers, in fact any package except Garmin as their maps are protected from use by other manufacturer's receivers.

Does not work with GARMIN maps.

If you buy cheap receivers then cheap you'll get. Their price will tell you that they just cannot be as good as this one. The complicated electronics inside is what decides the price.
