This kit provides a simple, well designed external container to collect and contain the waste ink dumped during a "head cleaning" routine, by your Epson printer. All you have to do is modify your printer to install it.
A "Service Required" Solution?
Most Epson desktop printers have been built with a printhead that is capable of lasting decades (with proper care) but it has one achilles heel in it's handling of waste ink. Epson printers waste considerable amounts of ink into its waste pads which sooner or later need emptying.
When the printer decides it's full, it will flash up a message "Parts inside the printer have reached the end of their service life". Normally replacing these pads is expensive, and very difficult to complete by anyone other than a qualified service technician because of the way the printers are designed.
OctoInkjet Bag kits are designed to make it cheaper and simpler to redirect all the waste into a sealed, secure bag which is easy to empty, clean and re-use with minimal mess. Once installed, all you need to do, is reset the waste ink counter, dispose of the waste ink from time to time and you're good to go.
Resetting the Waste-Ink / Protection Counter?
Fitting a kit does not automatically clear the waste ink counter on your printer. Instead a utility is required to complete the reset before you can use your printer again.

Other OctoInkjet Kits?
I am slowly developing new kit designs that suit different printer and user requirements but the primary alternative, to the Bag kits, are the "Box" type with a rigid, clip sealed container as the "tank".
Which is better?
The WIBAG (Waste Ink Bag) kits are comparable with the box kits in terms of features but they tend to be more appropriate for medium to light use printer users that dump/purge less waste ink. The key bonus of the bag design is that it has no vents at all which, in environments where children or accidents are more likely, is a definite plus. The quid pro quo on this is that the WIBAG kits do need need venting as more regular maintenance task, to remove any air buildup while the Box kits include a vent and require less maintenance/emptying.

Because of the longer (30cm) tube part, this kit is backwards compatible with the other single tube kit and allows more flexibility in tank/box placement.
To avoid problems please contact me first to be sure you have the right kit before ordering.
Important: Things to Remember!
The OctoInkjet kits all take into account some very important points that MUST be considered when installing a waste ink tank of any kind.
The tubing and "tank" should NEVER be higher than the printhead (approximately 2inches/5cm from the base of the printer) otherwise the ink can backflow into the waste pad, that the printhead rests on.
Any backflow can soil the bottom of the printhead and causing ink mixing, clogging or worse! (Some kits on eBay completely ignore this principal!)
The kit includes a simple barbed fitting which slides into the existing Epson waste ink tube thus extending the original waste tube and avoiding any need to pull the tubing to extend it that bit further. (A number of users have pulled too hard on the existing waste tube and "killed" their printer by breaking the tube off the waste ink pump!)
Never place your waste tank below your printer, this can create a syphon effect which can drain your cartridges (or CIS) dry.
Installing a waste ink kit on any Epson printer may invalidate your warranty (assuming you are still in warranty)

North American Customers
Owners of most Epson Inkjet printers in the USA/Canada can obtain the necessary reset utility from Epson directly for all but the most recent printers (eg: Workforce).
If your printer is not yet supported, I strongly recommend you contact Epson and register your need for a suitable reset utility.
Rest of the World (including UK, Europe, Asia, etc...)
Because of the huge number of single waste tube printers it is impossible to list every single one that is or is not currently supported.
In some instances customers have reported that some Epson validated service technicians are willing to reset printers (without servicing the printer further) for them for a small fee although this may vary at different service centres.
