WW2 German Luftwaffe Type44 Sheep Fur Winter Cap 57

The Luftwaffe Type44  Winter Cap was developedin late 1943, soon after the M43 field cap has been widely issued , the winter cap featured a “M43” type
front, it is made of blue-grey wool material with cotton lining and padding, the side ear lugs l of the cap are made of artifical sheep fur, and held in the upright position by dual white cotton tie tapes.
The tie tapes and a brown tape fastener were also utilized for a secure closure when the side and back panels were worn in the lowered position to protect the nape of the neck and chin.
The side pieces count be worn either up or down, and tied, by clothe tapes, in both positions.
The interior of the cap is fully lined in quilted, ribbed, brown cotton poplin with an internal padding.
The interior lining is well marked with a black size inkstamp and factory mark.
