WW2 German Heer/Elite M42 Rabbit Fur Cap (sienna) 61

The M42 fur Cap was first seen in the
winter combat of 1942-1943, it is made of field-grey wool material, with cotton lining and padding, the side ear lugs and back panel of the cap are made of artifical rabbit's fur, and held in the
upright position by dual brown cotton tie tapes.
The tie tapes and a brown tape fastener were also utilized for a secure closure when the side and back panels were worn in the lowered position to protect the nape of the neck and chin.
The side pieces count be worn either up or down, and tied, by clothe tapes, in both positions.
The interior of the cap is fully lined in quilted, ribbed, brown cotton poplin with an internal padding.
The interior lining is well marked with a black size inkstamp and factory mark.
