Here is a WW2 British Army steel helmet with original light textured brown camouflage paint. The paint on the inside of the shell retains all of the (sand) texture whereas on the outside of the shell it has worn quite smooth on the 'high-points'. Some of the paint has worn away in small patches however, it is not easy to distinguish 'old metal patina' from the brown paint. The shell is in very good used condition with no dents. The liner is in great used condition & the crown cushion is quite bendy. Liner stamped with "7 1/4 BMB I 1940", (Briggs Motor bodies, a British helmet & liner manufacturer). Any stampings on the under-side of the brim are obscured by the textured paint. The chin-strap is in fine condition with all springs good. A great example.
