WORKING NARROWBOAT RESTORATION


Through the restoration of several old working boats including Grand Union boats "Barnet", "Leo" and "Sagitta" in 1998 a variety of traditional boat building techniques are demonstrated. Caulking, rolling oakum, hot riveting, traditional decoration and much more.

Most of the work was carried out at BW Bradley workshops where some of the last skilled BW boat repairers were employed
Join us in various docks and witness first hand the labours of putting traditional working boats back into use.

A tour of working boat events then takes place
