This Brand New life-like, Mother & Baby Woodpecker, carved out of wood, stands on it’s own wood stump measuring 5 ½ " tall. The woodpecker measures approximately 4¼" x approximately 1½" wide. The wood that is used to make these birds is camphorwood and has been inspected. There is NO LEAD in the paint that is used. This carving portrays nature at work, and would make a wonderful decorative statement anywhere in your home or office.
Each wood stand has its own unique shape & color and might be slightly different than the auction picture, as each log is hand cut and therefore cannot be exactly the same.
A little bit about the Woodpecker: Strong claws and a stiff tail adapted for clinging to and climbing trees, and a chiseled-like bill for pecking through wood.
With beautiful warm colors, the mother woodpecker display’s her beauty in shades of black and white, with a white breast, a red band of feathers across the nape accented with black wings, which are also speckled with white. This defines the life-like feathers of this lovely bird. The baby, with shades of green colored feathers, is sticking his head out of the wood stump, waiting to be fed. This true-to-life combination is tailored with wonderful distinction.
The artist, with skill and time, hand carved this realistic looking Woodpecker. It shows full details in his artwork as well as the hand carved accents. This is a true "Must Have" for all collectors of these beautiful birds.
