WMF POLISHED PEWTER ART NOUVEAU TEA SET - c1906

This is a highly collectable and very desirable WMF polished pewter Tea/Coffee Jug Set.

Manufactured around 1906 by Wuerttemburghische Metallwerkenfabrik after they took over a rival company ORIVIT a few years previously, this stylish example of good, solid, polished pewterware is in excellent condition.

As can be seen from the photo-image, there are three jugs in varying sizes. The smallest is the Milk Jug, with a height of 8.5 cms and a base diameter of also 8.5 cms.

The Tea Pot is 15 cms high to the top of the filial with a base diameter of 13 cms.

Finally, the Coffee (or maybe Hot Water) Jug measures 17.5 cms with a base diameter of 13 cms. the two larger jugs have a decorated spout and each has an heraldic shield on either side. There is a small indentation on one of the shields of each of these larger jugs. I would say that, at its original manufacture, this large jug had a filial. If so, it has been expertly renovated though not replaced.

Each is correctly stamped with the manufacturer's mark underside.
