GET THE MOST FROM YOUR ALCOHOL STOVE!! EXTRA WIDE 5 1/2" Due to requests for our better windscreen as a replacement for inferior or other windscreens you can now purchase it separately. The windscreen also will serve as a potstand and will accept very heavy pots full of water. Forget the aluminum foil screens that just blow away, this one works! Please see the website below for more pictures of it in use. The Extra Wide model only weighs a smidge over 3/4 oz., shipping weight is just 3 oz with a reusable tube that works well to store it and your alcohol stove in. Unless the conditions are absolutely perfect, you will need a windscreen to hold the flame where it belongs with any kind of breeze and contain the heat in a concentrated area. This will improve the performance of any alcohol stove. The windscreen will anneal the first time it's used and will try to retain the round shape. This is normal and can easily be flattened again if this is the way you carry it. It's also normal for it to turn brown or black after the first use and does not affect the functionality. Workmanship is excellent and if needed your windscreen can be altered with heavy scissors to fit your cup or pan handle. Your new windscreen measures about 18 1/2" long and makes about a 5 1/2" circle, it's 3 1/4" high. I've had requests for a wider windscreen to support 8" pots, this is the perfect answer. Of course you can always use your tentstakes or some copper wire pushed through the vent holes to handle smaller pots. The shipping weight is only an ounce more if you need a new alcohol stove to go with your windscreen. You can purchase the stove and windscreen with instructions as a "Buy it Now" or bid as you see fit.
