a story about this device

A group of large format amateurs fancied about building a 6x17 portable view camera themselves. 15 months later,  they did it.. and this device is an essential part of it..   

actually, their 6x17 view camera is available for $799 each if you're interested. 

the marking is the distance (unit in metric meter) between the object and the lenses (pictured above is the one based on focal length of 65mm, you may get one with different marking scale)

so for other focal length, the marking will not be precise, but it's not too big an issue, and you can guestimate it yourself

this is the device that doesn't come with a lens board, and you can mount any other lens board with it, but you may have to ask a machine shop to modify the lens board a bit in order to mount it

Precision made.   this is a very useful device for wide-angle photography, it permits to focus a shorter focal length lenses (75mm or shorter) mounted on a 4x5 Linhof Technika 

The lens board is to fit Copal #0 shutter
