In Wheeler Dealers the challenge is to save a variety of classic cars from the scrap yard. Auto veteran Mike Brewer joins forces with his mechanic mate with only £1,000 and one week to complete each car.

Working from a dedicated garage base, each of the six cars - a Golf GTI, Porsche 924, Mercedes 230E, Ford Capri, classic Mini and Saab 900 - will need at least four repair jobs and a host of smaller, cosmetic tidy-ups before they are ready for the road. A sure treat for retro car lovers everywhere.

First and foremost Mike must find a car to revamp. Through a number of mediums, such as small ads, the internet, specialist clubs and garage forecourts, he hunts down the best cars to work on. Whilst finding the cars to renovate Mike offers plenty of useful and general tips on how to select the perfect second-hand motor.

Acclaimed motor specialist Edd China makes his initial assessment of each car, leaving Mike to decide what to spend the £1,000 on and how best to get the motor back on the road and cruising down the motorway. These decisions range from whether to give the car a simple cosmetic spray job, or a refurbished gearbox.

The ultimate aim is to have the motor renovated, cleaned and finally sold to a keen buyer: hopefully at a profit. Again, Mike will offer essential tips on how to sell a second-hand car.
