Early 19th Century Pearlware Childs Mug

An early 19th century Pearlware child mug.  R is for Rat, Rake and whatever else you can see in the blue transfer.

A wonderful item that has survived nearly 200 years,  blue transfer print.  Roughly potted with pearlware glaze runs seen mainly on the inside rim. 

The condition is good for an item of this age there has been a repair to a chip at the front base and there is a hairline at the rim near the handle,  a stress line to the inside base that does not go through.  I have taken a few pictures so you can judge the condition for yourselves. 

This is a wonderful early example of childrens pottery.   Mugs are very rare as they were usually dropped and broken by children,   the childrens plates survived better as they were kept on the table and not picked up. 

A nice clean looking mug which will display beautifully.

Measures 2.75" (7cm) high.

I pack well using bubble wrap,  poly chips, (impact resisting materials) and strong boxes.
