An early 19th century Pearlware child mug decorated with seashells and flags on flagpoles to either side,  one would seem to be the american flag.

Possibly from a Welsh pottery and would date to around 1830 perhaps earlier.

A wonderful item that has survived nearly 200 years,  blue transfer print with verse. 

The condition is very good for an item of this age,  there are no chips, cracks or restoration but there is an age stress line to the base perhaps done at manufacture only visable when turned over and nothing visable on the inside of the mug.   

This is a wonderful early example of childrens pottery.   Mugs are very rare as they were usually dropped and broken by children,   the childrens plates survived better as they were kept on the table and not picked up. 

A nice clean looking mug which will display beautifully.

Measures 3" (7.5cm) high.

I pack well using bubble wrap,  poly chips, (impact resisting materials) and strong boxes.
