Fascinating Ward Lock "Red" travel guide, dating from the 1940s - 6th edition. Full of contemporary photographs, fold-out maps and advertisements. These guides are increasingly becoming collectors' items. (See www.wardlockredguides.co.uk for more information about the series.) Area covered : The Malvern Country, including Worcester, Droitwich, Gloucester, Cheltenham, Hereford, Evesham, Tewkesbury and surrounding parts of Worcestershire, Gloucestershire and Herefordshire. Overall condition : Very good. Maps : Very good. Because this was a wartime edition, two of the maps and plans were omitted for security reasons under the Control of Maps Order. Three remain - these are complete and undamaged. Covers : Very good, but there is some superficial old water damage, mainly to the rear cover. Rubbing to edges. Spine : Very good, althoufg rather worn. Scuffing and a small tear to top edge of cloth. Binding : Excellent. Pages : Very good. Very little wear. No discolouration. Other : Old sepia postcard of Ledbury tucked inside front cover.
