Fascinating Ward Lock "Red" travel guide, dating from 1933/34, 17th edition revised. Full of contemporary photographs, advertisements and fold-out maps. These guides are increasingly becoming collectors' items. (See www.wardlockredguides.co.uk for more information about the series.) Area covered : Buxton, The Peak, Bakewell, Matlock, Dovedale, etc Overall condition : Very good. Maps : Excellent. All of the fold-out maps are complete and undamaged, apart from one small margin tear. Covers : Very good. Normal wear. Superficial faint waterspots to front cover (see scan). Bumping to corners. No damage. Spine : Very good. Normal wear. No damage. Binding : Very good, but, there is a crack inside the front cover meaning some looseness - could be easily reglued. Pages: Very good. Normal wear. Usual discolouration.
