Fascinating Ward Lock "Red" travel guide, dating from 1939/40 - 13th edition revised.  Full of contemporary photographs, fold-out maps and advertisements.

These guides are increasingly becoming collectors' items. (See www.wardlockredguides.co.uk  for more information about the series.)

Area covered : Barnstaple, Bideford, Westward Ho!, Clovelly, Ilfracombe and North-West Devon.

Overall condition : Very good.

Maps : Because this was a wartime edition, the 3 town plans were removed for security reasons under the Control of Maps Order.  All the other maps are present and undamaged.

Covers : Very good, although rather worn. Slight superficial marking.

Spine :  Rather worn.  Rubbing to top and bottom edges.

Binding : Very good, although crack inside front cover.

Pages :  Very good - normal wear - some discolouration at edges.  Closed tears to title page and contents page.
