One DA-27 pump will easily support and provide fuelling for 650bhp on turbo applications, if you are planning on racing with it then always use 2 so that you have a backup.

 

The DA-27 Pump is ideal as a replacement up rated fuel pump for any car or a modifying/race car project whether it’s turbo/supercharged or normally aspirated. If you are up rating your turbo, injectors, cams, boost, internal polishing, lightening and balancing and transmission then spend money to upgrade your fuel pump!!

This pump can be used as internal/external/inline fuel pump it is totally self priming and will suck fuel from rear mounted tank. Many of our customers use these for race applications and mount them externally. However if you know what you are doing you could get one of these to sit in tank if you modify your fuel pump housing.

This pump has been custom made so that it can be used both as an internal/external and inline fuel pump. There is less hassle for a user not having to fit an external strainer as we have managed to incorporate an internal fuel filter/strainer inside the DA-27 pump! This is also something which you do not see on normal fuel pumps. It means less hassle and expense for you, you can literally just connect this up INLINE and it will draw from your tank. Most our racing applications mount the pump/s in the passenger foot well, this will work fine but my advice is the closer to the tank the better.

The inlet and outlet on the pump are parallel to make match up to most vehicles very simple. In some cases you might require an additional pipe joiner and fittings but no serious modifications will be necessary. However if you are not experienced then we advise you seek professional help, you are messing around with a fuel system at the end of the day.

Remember, having too big of a pump is not a problem, but in some applications with an OEM stock regulator you may need to upgrade the regulator to avoid issues with too much flow for the OEM components. Return style fuel systems, such as all the vehicles these pumps work with, have any extra fuel returned to the fuel tank through the return fuel line. Because of this, as large a pump as the stock lines can support is fine, even with a stock engine!

Boosted applications that see higher fuel pressures can still make 500 hp with this pump, but not when over 90 psi because the fuel heats up and can cause problems. Also, a fuel pump can't pump when it doesn't get enough voltage. If you are running high horsepower in the 450+ range you should upgrade your wiring and relay to support your new high flow fuel pump properly or your fuel pump may suffer low flow rates due to low voltage if your stock wiring is too thin and relay too weak.
