Voigtlander VITO with Skopar 50mm f:3.5 Lens in Prontor II Shutter
Part of a substantial collection of photographic equipment that I inherited from my father, but sadly haven't the space to display or store it so have decided to sell it through eBay.
This is a Voigtlander VITO 35mm folding camera. It has a Skopar 50mm f:3.5 lens in a Prontor II shutter. It has a viewfinder mounted on top and no rangefinder. Lens aperture adjustable from f:3.5 to f:16, and shutter speeds to 1/200. The camera's in reasonable used condition. Cosmetically it is quite worn; the leather covering is missing from the bottom, and peeling off at one end of the rear door; there are a few chips off the black paint too, but no serious dents or scratches. The silver finish is mainly good but has rubbed through to brass on top of the viewfinder. The lens appears to be in good condition; and the aperture iris works and looks free of oil. The shutter seems to work fine. The self-timer moves, but is very lazy - I expect it would perk up if used a bit. The remote shutter release button is a bit sticky - sometimes it doesn't ping back up as it should; there are a couple of levers/switches on the lens assembly that I don't really understand - perhaps I'm doing something wrong!
I hope this description is complete and helpful; I will do my best to answer any questions you have and can provide additional pictures if necessary.
As with all my auctions, I am listing with a low starting price and no reserve. I will not accept offers to end the auction early - it is unfair to other bidders. I will pack extremely carefully and will insure according to the value that the camera reaches. Recorded delivery in the UK will cost £5, Airmail will cost £7 in Europe or £10 for the rest of the world. Collection from Farnham, Surrey is of course free and very welcome. All standard forms of payment gratefully accepted - but non-UK bidders please note I can't accept cheques or bank transfers in any currency except Sterling unless the buyer is prepared to pay the (embarassingly high) bank charges that I will be charged and wait until the payment has fully cleared before I ship.
