- Ethernet based broadband connection - a Virgin Media cable modem, for example. An ADSL modem with an Ethernet port is compatible with the Netgear WNR834M also.

- 802.11n draft specification, 802.11b/g wireless adapter, or Ethernet adapter and cable for each computer to connect to the router. Some computers and consoles have wireless connectivity built-in - check the user manual if you’re not sure.

- Windows 98/Me/NT/2000/XP/Vista -or- Mac OS -or- Linux
