The Netgear WPN824 simply connects to the modem supplied to you by your cable broadband provider (Virgin Media most likely), to share your broadband.

It is compatible with both PC and Mac computers, and also with the Xbox 360, Playstation 3, Nintendo Wii, Nintendo DS and the PSP.

Want to connect a computer to it with a cable? No problem – the Netgear WPN824 has 4 Ethernet ports, so in addition to connecting as many devices as you like wirelessly, you can connect up to 4 devices using Ethernet cables.

- Ethernet based broadband connection – a Virgin Media cable modem, for example. An ADSL modem with an Ethernet port is compatible with the Netgear WPN824 also.

- 802.11b/g wireless adapter, or Ethernet adapter and cable for each computer to connect to the router. Some computers and consoles have wireless connectivity built-in – check the user manual if you’re not sure.

- Windows 98/Me/NT/2000/XP/Vista -or- Mac OS -or- Linux
