I am selling a vintage white cotton lace tray cloth, in a design depicting stylised leaves and grapes around a plain central panel, with scalloped edges. The overall size is 18 ins wide x 12 ins high. I believe this may be hand made but it has no provenance. The designs and central panels are linked with cotton thread netting strands. Its age is uncertain but from other pieces I have, I believe this dates from the first half of the twentieth century. There is some damage in that some of the netting strands between the patterns, and round the edge, have broken, but I have not attempted to repair these, and to me, they add to its authenticity. Despite its age, this tray cloth has no stains or rust marks and is still clean and white. For sale as described, from a smoke free household.
