Very pretty reverse carved red rose brooch dating, I believe, to the 1940s. The brooch is a sort of diamond shape at the back, with an octagonal shape on the front and it has a pretty deep red rose in the centre with its stem and leaves. Elegant design and pretty shape.  It is in good condition with a few feint scratches from wear which can only be seen through a glass and are mentioned for accuracy only. The brooch fastens with a vintage roll over clasp and measures approximately 3.5cms square.
