The date stamp suggests it was made June 30 1965. Condition best described as "fair". The batteries have leaked in their thankfully close fitting box. Most of the spring connectors in the box have rotted away. A little ingenuity is all that is required to replace them. There is a tiny bit of corrosion at the bottom of the all metal case of the radio. I have shown pictures of the battery box separately so you can get a good idea of what it is like. The leatherette stuff on the front flap seems to have shrunk a bit. Hopefully all visible in the picts. Sorry I had to do them all with flash but it's just not going to get light today! The only other defect I can see is that there is a bit broken off the aerial top knob as shown in the pict. Now for the good news. It comes with a modern 240v mains adaptor and is working fine. The VHF and AM sounds great and stations come up about where they should. All the short wave bands sound pretty lively. The long aerial in the handle has not been bent. The pull-out station booklet is still there and intact as well as the instruction booklet. I have also included a print-out of the full service manual. I have quoted Parcelforce delivery, a bit dearer, to avoid the problems with Royal Mail. Packed weight is well over 6Kg. Overseas buyers should request shipping cost to your country before bidding as it would be costly. PayPal only please, or cash if you collect. |
