This vintage empty stoneware decanter was made for the Glenfidditch & Balvenie Distilleries, Dufftown, Scotland, to hold 'Grant's Deluxe Scotch'.

It is very old and the handle is placed differently from later versions, but I do not know the exact date it was made.

It measures 7 ½" high, with lower part in the natural stoneware and the top coloured in a deep blue.

The handle loop is attached to the side and top of the jug, rather than the neck as in later decanters.
It has a pouring lip and is fitted with a ceramic stopper with cork attached.

The front of the jug has a red 'Seal' with a length of coloured braided cord embedded in it.
The other end is loose, I do not know for certain, but this may have been attached to the stopper in some way originally.

This item is in EXCELLENT CONDITION, with no chips, cracks, restoration or crazing to the glaze.
There is a tiny piece at the edge of the seal missing, but it could have been like this when manufactured.
