This is a very cute Yorkshire Terrier 'Shoe Shine Set' from the Art Deco period - (I have no idea of the type of wood it is made from).

Featuring a carved wooden Yorkshire Terrier with orange and black glass eyes.  In the top of the head slots a red painted wooden brush and a similar longer brush through it's legs.   The set is still very useable, although some of the bristles are worn.  A great item for the art deco collector!
