ITEM DESCRIPTION:
Item for bid is a brown glass liquor bottle from the post-Prohibition era.
The bottle is embossed on the side:
"FEDERAL LAW FORBIDS SALE OR RE-USE OF THIS BOTTLE"
On the reverse side of the bottle reads:
"4/5 QUART"
And the bottom reads:
"R-4
65 70"
From checking the internet, the federal warning was embossed on bottles between 1932-64 as a deterrent for moon-shiners not to re-use the bottles for illicit purposes.
