It is my pleasure to offer this vintage solid oak twin pedestal desk believed to date from 1930's and in the Art Deco style, these sturdy desks are becoming increasingly popular and this is a good example that would sit nicely in both contemporary and traditional interiors.
It is a good size piece offering plenty of working area and storage, there are three large drawers in the desk top that have replacement brass handles, each pedestal has a cupboard that one has three original oak drawers and the other has a filing system that is a later addition and one of the original drawers, this desk could easily be converted to house a computer in one of the cupboards, part of the insides of the pedestals have ben cut out at the top for wires, this is not noticeable when the desk is assembled and does not affect the functionality of the desk in any way. It has a the original brown inlaid writing surface with that has some signs of wear and is slightly damaged on the right front corner, the whole thing rests on a stepped in plinth giving it a seamless finish and deco styling, the sides and rear of the pedestals are panelled so it looks good from all angles. Overall It is a solid, attractive and useful piece that has lots of indvidual style and character and is ready for use.
I have loaded lots of photos so that you can see for yourself the style and overall condition of this lovely old desk.
It measures 66" W x 39" D and is 31" H. The desk dismantles into three pieces.
