This is a stunning art deco bead necklace, c.1930s in date, in desperate need of re-stringing or a new purpose for the beads. The beads are graduated multi-coloured celluloid or similar early plastic. They are heavily carved and pierced through, and I think this must be done by hand as they are all different. There is some minor damage or errors to a couple of beads, but this barely shows amongst the intricate carving, and it's hard to tell whether it is part of the original carving process. The largest beads are approx. 24mm ovals, and the smallest 6mm spacers, and the whole necklace approx. 44cm long including the barrel clasp and little faceted black glass spacers. It has obviously been re-strung at some point, and needs some work again to make it wearable, but a really gorgeous and unusual set of vintage beads to work with!
