Casa Tranquila is a well appointed, 3 bedroom villa with private pool. Situated in a stunning position, with views down to the Mediterranean sea in the distance and across to the magnificent mountains of the Sierra Almijera. The villa is located just a ten minute drive from the picturesque 'white village' of Competa, a traditional Spanish village (the real Spain) with a good selection of restaurants, tapas bars, supermarkets etc. The villa is extremely private, with trees or wall/balustrade all around it. No one overlooks. The free form pool has safe Roman styled steps down, ideal for the timid to sit and dip their toes and with a gentle slope half way down the pool. There is a lovely 'mirador' area, ideal for drinks and barbecues with wonderful views. One double bedroom with en-suite and the twin bedroom are at one end of the villa overlooking the pool, and beyond the lounge is the family bathroom and second double room with 5-foot bed.  This makes the accommodation very versatile, offering privacy to two couples holidaying together, or a family with grandparents.

Kitchen: Luxury kitchen with granite worktops, integrated oven and combination microwave, ceramic hob, dishwasher, fridge/freezer, toaster.
Utility Room: Washing machine in separate building attached to rear of villa, iron and ironing board
Living Rooms: Large, airy and spacious lounge/dining room, air conditioning, 2 leather sofas, 6 seater dining table, large flat screen TV, free to air Sky TV.
Study/relaxing area with large comfy sofa, desk and internet point.

All bed linen, kitchen and bathroom towels are included. You will need to bring your own beach/pool towels. Thevilla will be cleaned, bedlinen and towels freshly laundered and beds made up for arrival. 

The villa has gas central heating and a wood burning fire for winter lets, air conditioning to the lounge and both double bedrooms with a free standing fan in the third. The property is fully double glazed. Mosquito screens to all windows and doors. The villa, pool and grassed area are all on one level, with steps up to the wooded/ natural area at the rear of the property. 

Please note that we ask our guests NOT to smoke inside the villa and to dispose of cigarette ends etc. responsibly.

From the front of the villa the door opens out onto a covered arched terrace with stunning views down to the sea, to the side of the terrace is the archway to the pool and garden area. The area around the pool is a combination of tiles and grass, yes grass! Much kinder to the feet in hot weather! There is an outside shower adjacent to the pool. Near the pool, where you can dine al fresco, is a slightly raised eating/drinking/entertaining area, the perfect spot to take in the beautiful views. The pool is free form and approximately 8 x 4m. The front of the garden is surrounded by balustrade. The pool and immediate garden area are well lit at night. The villa has seating and sun loungers for you to use, either by the pool terraces or in the more shaded areas.  There is a large gas barbecue

**Please note that the villa is not equipped to cater for babies and toddlers, i.e. no cots, high chairs etc.  Also, while the villa and pool area are on one, flat level, the garden areas above and below the villa are steep and the pool is not gated and therefore young children will need to be closely supervised. **

Golf
The nearest golf course is only 30 minutes drive away at Baviera Golf, Caleta.

Travel
Airports - Malaga 55km/33 miles 50 minutes journey time.  Most of the UK budget airlines fly into Malaga, from the majority of UK airports.
Granada 209km/130 miles 2.5 hours.
The nearest ferry port is Malaga 55km/33 miles 50 mins. A car is essential unless taxis are to be used extensively.

Distances
The villa is just a 50 minutes drive from Malaga airport, a short distance (10 minutes) from the white washed village of Competa, known locally as the 'Pearl of the Axarquia'. Easily approached by a good tarmac road then just a few hundred metres along a good track (final few metres of steep, but concreted, drive). It is ideally situated within easy driving distance of the coast as well as the villages of Competa, Archez and Canillas de Albaida. The popular resort of Nerja is 20km away. Granada and the Alhambra Palace are popular attractions, aroud a 2 hour drive away.

Further details
There is a very friendly, British run pub/restaurant just a few minutes walk from the villa for those occasions when you just want to go for a quick stroll for a drink and/or a meal. Close enough for convenience but not too close to hear or see it from the villa.

Booking notes

A damages deposit of £150 and a key deposit of £30 is payable when booking.  This is standard practice and both are fully refundable within 10 days of the end of your holiday, provided there is no damage/loss or excessive cleaning required. The villa will be cleaned and beds made up before your arrival (please advise number of persons).  We have a friendly English keyholder.  Basic provisions (Bread, milk etc) can be provided if required, the cost of which is payable locally to the keyholder during your holiday.  Please note that it is your responsibility to take out travel insurance to cover you if you have to cancel or curtail your holiday.  The villa will normally be available from 4pm and must be vacated by 11am, but some flexibility may be possible.
