Victorinox
Swisscard Quattro in Black
The Victorinox Swisscard Quattro may be the size of a credit card, but it's packed with useful tools (12 of them to be exact), that
most anyone finds themselves needing from one time to another for those quick fixes when you least expect them. It's a simple
tool, but one that you'll find yourself using more often than you thought.
Comes in several
colours so check out our other listings if this isn't the colour your looking for. For simplicity I've used the Black model in the
review for the listing. Check the title and picture to the left to verify which one is for offer in this listing.
The Swisscard Quattro has both a Standard/Imperial (inches) and a Metric ruler. The metric
one is on the front of the card and measures up to 7.5cm and the inches is located on the back and reads up to 3 inches. Ideal if
you are trying to work out a scale on a map or simply need to measure something with a bit more accuracy than just taking a
rough guess.
The Quattro comes with a 4-in-1 coin screwdriver. I call it a "coin" screwdriver as that's about the size of a 10p coin. It
has two phillips head tips which are sized #1 and #2 and then two slothead/flathead tips which are also #1 and #2. Even though
they are flat they are still well thought out and designed and bite into the screw. Not just simply slip out of them once they start to
tighten up. Ideal for those little jewlery screws which are becoming more and more common on items. The design of the bit itself
works well as it gives you plenty to grip between your fingers and the small cut-out circle in the centre allows the flesh of your
fingers to dip down into it and keep from slipping when applying downward pressure. Its stubby size also allow for precise control
as well. Pulling it out of the card is a easy task thanks to the nailpick indent.
The Quattro has a letter
opener, which is sharp enough to cut through thin materials as well (paper, string, even some fruit). But at only 4cm long it's
nothing to worry about if used in public no one would give you a strange look. It also has a nailpick indent for easy removal from
the card. The tool locks into the card, so it won't simply just fall out like many cheap knock-off products do becoming a safety
hazard.
The Quattro also has a small ball
point pen suitable for those times when you need to jot down a address or a phone number at the spur of the moment. Or
if you are out on the golf course and need to keep count of just how well you are doing and how lousy your mate is on the score
card.
Also it comes with a small pair
of tweezers. I can't think of anyone who hasn't been out and never had a splinter at some point. At least now you won't
have to go around chewing at it or picking at it all day. You can just pluck it out and be on your way. Just in case it's a bit deeper
there is a small pin/needle
which you could use.. or if need be you could use the needle for other small jobs such as pinning a button hole or broken zipper.
In case you get a hang nail or simply need to clean up under your nails there is a nail file with a tip for cleaning up
under them. I guess in a pinch you could use it as a mini-pry bar as well if you need to pop something up like a battery cover or
similiar.
In case you get something caught in your teeth after a meal or snack there is even a toothpick supplied.
All of these tools slide
and lock into place in each end of the card.
If you have the habit of dropping or loosing things to the bottom of a pack you can secure it to a strap via the lanyard hole which
is ideal size for some 5Star Paracord.
The card is lightweight at only 20g and about as thick as a 2 pound coin. Dimensions are 80mm x 53mm so about the same size
as your average credit card. It fits well within most wallets (shown here in a SpecOps Brand
THE Wallet JR) or could simply be stored in a purse, bag, rucksack, drawer or next to the bed till needed. Comes new in the
box and makes for a ideal gift as well, especially for those that like their gadgets.
