This is a very pretty chair. It is made in mahogany and is early Victorian, dating to around 1860. It is a rocking chair and unusually has its original buttoned leather cushion. There is nothing like the shine of original period leather and this against the rich mahogany is very opuland looking. This has been a top quality piece of furniture and is the "manly" sort of piece that has probably been in a home library or study. The chair has had a lot of use and as a consequence has some very old repairs to the back and arms and a rip to the buttoned seat - see photos. The chair is, despite this sturdy and rocks well and looks stunning. The chair is 32 inches high at the back. The seat is 15 inches high and 17.5 inches wide and 17.5 inches deep.
