Victorian Mahogany Sutherland Table ca 1870

This beautiful Victorian mahogany Sutherland table has an oval moulded top with drop leaves, beautiful carved fretwork side supports, turned swinging legs and a beautiful turned cross stretcher. The piece has its original brown porcelain and brass casters (one has been replaced with white porcelain), is a rich red mahogany colour with a striking grain, good patina, is in very good condition and has been beautifully cleaned using a traditional form of wax finishing.

Items of this age and quality are becoming very rare to find and they are not just a beautiful piece of furniture but also a very good investment. A piece of furniture of this quality should sell for around £1500. In a London antique shop it would have a price tag of well over £2000.
