VICTORIAN PRISON CELL DOOR with lock.

allegedly from Pentonville Prison, London.

We were informed at auction that this was the door to a cell once occupied by Hanratty but having researched this I found he was not in fact an inmate of Pentonville Prison, so one or other of the details must be incorrect. The door is made of thick pine which appears to have been stripped on one side. The other side is clad with a sheet of painted steel. The hatch works as shown in detail. The lock is still attached but we do not have the key. The hinges are not available.

This is a VERY HEAVY item (approximately 60kg)
