Victorian Burr Walnut Dickens Desk ca 1870

This stunning antique Victorian walnut Dickens desk has a beautifully turned gallery flanked by four small mahogany lined drawers, a central moulded writing slope and the interior has two small drawers and several pigeon holes. The desk has three faux black leather writing inserts and a central faux drawer above a large knee hole. Each pedestal has four graduating mahogany lined drawers with original turned knobs. The piece stands on a plain plinth and the back is finished enabling the piece to be placed in the centre of a room. The desk splits into three sections for ease of removals, is a rich golden walnut colour with striking grain, good patina, is in good condition and has been beautifully cleaned using a traditional form of wax finishing.
