Victorian Burr Walnut Antique Gentlemen’s Press

This beautiful Victorian burr walnut antique gentlemen’s press / wardrobe / cupboard ca 1840 has a rectangular moulded top above two cupboard doors with moulded edges and central burr walnut panels. The left interior has a brass hanging rail, wooden pegs and a brass tie rail. The right interior has two drawers with brass swan neck handles and six sliding linen trays. The piece stands on a plain plinth, has original backboards, a few minor marks on the top and splits into four for ease of removals. The piece is a rich light / medium mahogany colour with a striking grain, good patina, is in very good condition and has been beautifully cleaned using a traditional form of wax finishing.

This versatile piece combines all that is needed within a wardrobe and chest of drawers, providing plenty of depth (internal depth 24.5inches) without height and perfect for hard to reach bedrooms with sloping ceilings.
