Description: This is a beautiful 19th Century Victorian scroll arm chaise longue / day bed / sofa / couch / settee of very nice quality with a beautiful mahogany show wood frame. The chaise stands on its original brass and brown china castors having turned tapering legs over with a very decorative moulded rail. The scroll arm has very decorative carved scroll work with Greek key and classic lozenge designs. The chaise longue retains its original finish. The chaise has a green floral Regency stripe fabric upholstery, complete with a bolster. A lovely quality piece of original antique furniture. Date: The chaise longue dates circa 1880.
Condition: The chaise longue is in need of a little rejuvenation but in very good condition for its age, having some minor fading and one or two water marks, which are of little consequence and would easily polish out. The upholstery is later, and is in good condition but in need of a good clean or re-covering. The base is in good condition with the springing appearing to be in tact and is a well padded seat.
