This is a stunning antique vellum indenture, dating back to a historic past that is now lost to us. A piece of social history, this is vellum with long-handed details possibly written with a quill pen. It is also in english, but old english that is now unused.
The document is 76cm x 59cm and relates to arable land in Copthorne, dated 23rd November 1747. It has a wax seal on the bottom of the assignment deed. There is a small hole, as you can see on the photo which is not unusual for vellum, and does not detract from the display, but I have lowered the starting price as a result.
With red wax seals and the rich visual texture of vellum this will look wonderful framed, as a feature in your home that will be a talking point for all your guests.
This is a great collector's item, so happy bidding !!
