Vanishing Bird Cage Magic Trick.

Walk on stage carrying a small square birdcage in plain view.

In a split second the cage VANISHES! A marvellous effect.; a mechanical wonder.

This cage is well constructed and made is of metal construction!

This effect was made famous by Harry Blackstone, born September 27, 1885 and died November 16, 1965). He was a famed stage magician and illusionist of the 20th century. Blackstone was born Harry Boughton. He began his career as a magician in his teens and was popular through World War II as a USO entertainer. He was often billed as The Great Blackstone. His son Harry Blackstone, Jr. also became a famous magician.

The effect is described in an early 19th century book, believed to have been written by C Laing Neil around 1909 called ‘The Art of Modern Conjuring and Drawing Room Entertainment”. He explains the Vanishing Bird Cage effect apparatus as rather expensive but one of the most effective of vanishing tricks. Even in those days a real canary was substituted by a stuffed version.

This modern version of the trick, the cage looks just the same as those in early 20th century photographs but is better made and more robust, comes complete with everything needed, including an inanimate canary, to perform this stunning, mystifying illusion.

If the item is not as described including the pictures, which are part of the description, I will provide a full refund if the item is returned, within 7 days, in the same condition as it left us.
