About our items

All of the goods we sell, unless otherwise stated, are genuine vintage/antique items.  As such, they may have some minor flaws from age and wear.  With respect to clothing, there may be some slight imperfections such as surface wear or minor fading, bobbling and/or missing tags.  All the items, whether clothing or Objets dÂ’art/textiles, have been carefully and individually selected as well as thoroughly inspected prior to listing them.  Any major imperfections will be clearly described and we will show photographs, where possible and/or appropriate.  For clothing and shoes/boots, we do not rely purely on the sizing given and provide precise measurements for all our items.  So, please take the time to ensure that these measurements are suitable for you.

Please bear the above in mind when bidding on AUCTION ITEMS as REFUNDS CANNOT BE GIVEN for slight imperfections of age OR for items of clothing that do not fit.

End of Auction

We will email you within 24 hours of the auction end with a payment request for the purchase price of the item and postage costs.  Immediate PAYPAL payment is preferred.

Payments

OUR PREFERRED method of payment is via PAYPAL.  However, we also accept Personal Cheques, Postal Orders and Cash on Collection. When sending personal cheques and postal orders, these MUST be via RECORDED DELIVERY to ensure safe receipt.  If you are anticipating collecting an item eg furniture, please contact us prior to the auction and again within 24 hours of the auction end, to arrange a mutually convenient time as we only have an online shop!

We anticipate IMMEDIATE PAYMENT for all auction and buy-it-now items.  In the event that payment has not been received within 24 hours, we would appreciate contact from the buyer.  Items MUST be paid for WITHIN 7 DAYS of the auction end, and payment reminders will be sent out during this 7 day period.  After 7 days, any unpaid items will be processed through our system and non-payers reported to E-Bay.

If, for some reason, you are unable to pay immediately or prefer to pay via an alternative method to Paypal, we would appreciate it if you could please contact us prior to the auction or within 24 hours of the auction end to discuss this.

Posting/Combined

Our postal costs are based on the weight of the item once it is packaged - we do not intend to make profits from posting, as this is not fair or reasonable to our customers.  However, we do send all our items via 1st CLASS SIGNED FOR DELIVERY to ensure their safe receipt, so this is a bit more expensive than standard post - but WORTH IT!    

UK: We dispatch items daily and aim to post your purchases within 48 hours of your cleared payment. Most items are sent via 1st class SIGNED FOR to ensure safe and swift delivery.  Bulkier and heavier items may be sent via Parcel Force 48 signed for or another courier, where stated.

OVERSEAS: We are happy to dispatch most items worldwide, within 48 hours of your cleared payment.  All items are shipped using 'signed for' delivery to ensure their safe receipt.  However, we recommend that overseas buyers contact us PRIOR TO BIDDING for an overseas shipping quote if we haven't stated shipping costs overseas.  This is particularly relevant where we haven't stated worldwide postage, as this indicates that these items will weigh over 2kg and can be very costly to ship!

COURIER: For heavy items being shipped abroad, we find that sometimes shipping costs can be reduced if we use an international courier.  If you are keen to bid on an item that is listed for UK ONLY, please contact us PRIOR TO BIDDING so that we can provide an exact quote.  Please do not bid on items listed for UK ONLY if we haven't given you a quote!  We can also provide COURIER quotes for LARGE ITEMS of furniture - but this is for the UK ONLY - we do not ship large items  of furniture abroad.

COMBINED: Happily!!  If you buy more than one item, we are happy to quote for COMBINED POSTAGE if required.  Please contact us if you want to request this, especially if you are purchasing several items over a few days as our postage charges are based on the weight of the item(s).

Returns Policy

eBay AUCTION PURCHASES:  We hope you will love your purchases!  However, if you are not totally happy with your AUCTION purchase(s), please contact us so that we have an opportunity to resolve any problems.  However, please note that we DO NOT offer refunds for slight imperfections of age (and/or those stated in the listing) OR items that do not fit, as we are selling VINTAGE items and provide ACCURATE & DETAILED MEASUREMENTS for each item.  (We're always happy to provide additional measurements if requested.)  Under exceptional circumstances, we may offer a shop credit or appropriate exchange, and it is our policy to request photographs when we feel this is appropriate.  This will be to the value of the original purchase price ONLY (excluding ALL postage costs) and given upon receipt of the item(s) in its original condition.    

PLEASE NOTE buyers will be responsible for all return postage costs, and items should be sent via SIGNED FOR delivery to ensure their safe receipt.  Don't forget that the items remain the responsibility of the sender until they arrive back with us! 

eBay BUY IT NOW PURCHASES: As a UK BUYER, have the right to cancel within 7 days of receipt of your purchase, in accordance with the Consumer Protection (Distance Selling) Regulations.  In the unlikely event that you're unhappy with your purchase, please EMAIL us a notice of cancellation stating your reasons for wanting to return the item(s).  Upon receipt of this, we will confirm our acceptance via email and request that you post any returns immediately via SIGNED FOR delivery to ensure their safe receipt.  PLEASE NOTE that items remain your responsibility until they arrive with us!  Upon receipt, we will refund the original purchase price excluding any postage.  

NON UK BUYERS who have purchased BUY IT NOW items that they wish to change, are requested to contact us urgently once the item has arrived.  In the event of a return, we regret that non UK buyers will be responsible for ALL postage costs - outgoing and return - and this should be via a signed and tracked delivery service, as the item remains the responsibility of the buyer until it is safely returned to us.  

All returns should be in their original condition (with tags still attached where this applies) and show no evidence of use or misuse (including perfume, make up, pet hairs or tobacco smells), otherwise we are unable to offer a refund or exchange and the item will be returned to the purchaser.

This Returns Policy does not affect your Statutory Rights.
